何为“可用性”？

从上图可以看到，模块化电源系统通过“并联冗余”和“热插拔”技术，在提高了系统可靠性的降低了维修时间。这里没有提到“可用性”，“可用性”到底是个什么东西？这就需要我们从“可用性”的概念及衡量公式谈起。

可用性等于平均无故障时间除以平均无故障时间与平均故障修复时间之和的比率。这是一个不同于“可靠性”的测量角度，简单理解，“平均无故障时间”就是我们所谓的“可靠性”，系统无故障运行时间越长，我们说系统的可靠性越高。介于电力系统安全在公司运营中的关键作用和关联性影响，光考察系统的可靠性是不够的，还需要考察系统的故障修复时间和扩容时停机时间。一方面，“N+X”模块化并联冗余技术提高了系统的可靠性，使得“平均无故障时间”提高；另一方面，运用热插拔技术和标准化组件，极大的降低故障修复时间，二者一结合，系统的可用性一下子提高很多。

EVADA蓄电池性能的影响因素：

电池是个单个的“原电池”组成，每一个原电池电压大约12伏，原电池串联起来就形成了电压较高的电池，一个12伏的电池由6个原电池组成，24伏的电池由12个原电池组成等等。UPS的电池充电时，每个串联起来的原电池都被充电。原电池性能稍微不同就会导致有些原电池充电电压比别的原电池高，这部分电池就会提前老化。只要串联起来的某一个原电池性能下降，则整个电池的性能就将同样下降。试验证明电池寿命和串联的原电池数量有关，电池电压就越高，老化的就越快。UPS容量一定时，设计时应尽可能让电池电压低，这样UPS电池寿命就越长，对于电池电压一定时，应选择数量少电压高的原电池串联的电池，不要选择数量多电压低的原电池串联的电池。有些厂家UPS的电池电压比较高，这是因为容量一定时，电压越高，电流就越小，就可选用较细的导线和功率较小的半导体，从而降低UPS成本。容量1KVA左右的UPS的电池电压一般为24～96V。

Influencing factors of Evada battery performance:

The battery is a single "primary battery". Each primary batteryhas a voltage of about 12V. When the primary batteries areconnected in series, they form a battery with a higher voltage. A12V battery is composed of 6 primary batteries, a 24V battery iscomposed of 12 primary batteries, etc. When the ups battery ischarged, each primary battery connected in series is charged. Ifthe performance of the primary battery is slightly different, thecharging voltage of some primary batteries will be higher than thatof other primary batteries, and these batteries will age inadvance. As long as the performance of a primary battery connectedin series declines, the performance of the whole battery will alsodecline. The test shows that the battery life is related to thenumber of primary batteries in series. The higher the batteryvoltage is, the faster the aging is. When the ups capacity isfixed, the battery voltage shall be kept as low as possible duringthe design, so that the longer the ups battery life is. When thebattery voltage is fixed, the batteries with small quantity andhigh voltage in series shall be selected instead of the batterieswith large quantity and low voltage in series. The battery voltageof some ups manufacturers is relatively high, because when thecapacity is fixed, the higher the voltage is, the smaller thecurrent is, and the thinner wire and the semiconductor with smallerpower can be selected, so as to reduce the cost of ups. The batteryvoltage of ups with capacity of 1kVA is generally 24-96v.

互动式与后备式UPS的过载能力也分为正常工作方式与电池逆变方式两项技术指标。正常工作方式时的过载试验主要是考核UPS内部交流调压器以及主电路中开关(包括静态开关)的过电流能力。而处于电池逆变方式时的过载能力则是对逆变器的大输出功率与功率器件的考验,也是对告警保护功能的检验。在此值得一提的是,要使用容量足够的电池(或输出功率符合要求的直流电源)进行过载试验,否则在尚未达到逆变器的过载时间时出现电池欠压保护,而无法测试出逆变器的真实过载能力。

在2008版的保护与告警功能中写入了风扇故障告警,明确规定当风扇由于故障停止转动时,UPS应该发出声光告警信号。此告警功能对于大容量UPS来说是非常重要的。

2000版UPS行业标准已有近9年的使用时间，经历了一次修订，补充了适用范围的内容，调整了指标项目，提高了部分技术要求的指标。随着电源变换技术与控制技术的不断发展、功率器件性能的不断提高以及制造工艺的不断改进，会使得通信电源产品的质量与使用性能有不同程度的提高。随着科技与经济的不断发展，任何一个标准也都会被不断地修订。当认为必要时将会制定(或修订)出能代表当时综合技术发展水平的产品标准，由此使我国通信电源产品的综合技术水平与制造质量得到不断地提高

近日，多元化工业产品提供商伊顿公司旗下的山特公司（以下简称“山特”）宣布，将在2009年逐渐升级山特原有ARRAY系列UPS性能参数，加大此电力保护系统的“可靠性”及“可用性”。在刊出这一消息之后，有很多终端客户及读者纷纷反馈，表示对“可用性”的理解存在诸多疑惑和盲点，希望笔者能够予以一一解答。有鉴于此，笔者就山特推出的此款“新一代高频模块化电源解决方案ARRAY”及“可用性”的相关概念，作一个简单的阐释。

一、模块化UPS是怎么回事？

我们知道，UPS一般分三大类，即后备式、互动式和在线式。随着科技发展，电子器械及电力系统对电能质量的要求越来越复杂和严苛，逐渐由后备式发展到了互动式、在线式、热备份、整机并联冗余、模块化等等一系列的产品型类及先进技术。模块化UPS也正是基于这样的理念与趋势出现的。

进入21世纪以来，IT技术逐渐发展普及，促使大型数据中心乃至企业中心机房的位置凸现，如何有效保证数据安全，成为大家都很关注的问题。由于单台UPS无此能力，大家都不放心，于是提出了冗余供电的问题。早期就是由单机构成的冗余供电系统，当时有热备份串联冗余和并联冗余两种；上面两种方法多用于中大型机房，但我国70%以上是中型以下的小型机房，用上面的办法受限制，一方面是投资太大，另一方面小容量UPS不能并联，于是“N+X”模块化UPS就产生了，很好地解决了这个问题。
