The effective full electromagnetic transient simulation of newpower system not only needs to improve the accuracy and stabilitylevel of the basic model,but also needs to solve two majorproblems:the efficiency of simulating large-scale power grid atten-thousand-bus level and the accuracy of calculating differentpower electronic systems with different time scales.Based on thedeveloped high-performance electromagnetic transient simulationplatform,the basic idea and the effect for solving the aboveproblems are introduced.The synchronous generator,transmission lineand power electronic device are used as the examples to demonstratethe technology breakthrough of the key core models.With theefficient automatic parallel technology as well as the time-domaintransformation based large-step electromagnetic transientalgorithm,the effective full electromagnetic transient simulationof large-scale power grid with wide-range time scale isrealized.The hyper-realtime simulation for main network frame atthousand-bus level and the efficient simulation for power grid atten-thousand-bus level are realized.Through the multi-rateinterface of electromagnetic transient simulation,the platformrealizes the spatial multi-rate parallel simulation of large ACnetwork and power electronic system with different simulation timescales.The efficiency and accuracy of the proposed technique areverified by using several examples of super-large-scale power gridsat the ten-thousand-bus level,as well as the comparison with thefield-recorded disturbance waves in a provincial power grid and aregional power grid.
